Work developed with the Computational Design team at BMW Group Design.

Projects involved creating design workflows within Grasshopper and Catia to automate the generation of geometries used in recurring projects. The work included solutions that comply to fabrication constraints of different manufacturing methods.

C# scripting was used to develop a series of custom tools for the team’s workflow. These tools enabled new designs and sped up the process of generating design variances.

Besides geometry generation, a series of algorithms were developed that allow designers to select specific elements from a large dataset of geometries. This enables designers to implement variances, such as in color, form, or scale, in a controlled and reproducible way.
